Unique Stoneware

Unique stoneware dishes are now something that is easy to find.  The new urban generation is now looking for a type of tableware that will fit the bill for both formal entertaining and casual entertaining.  With the unique stoneware available today the creators of home decor today have met this need.

The other day I came across the funkiest set of stoneware dishes I had ever seen.  Not only was each piece a unique shape the colors were wild.  The inside was actually a different color than the outside so when you put a plate, bowl and a charger together you have six different coordinating colors.  So when I brought these dishes home it didn't matter what I used at least one piece coordinated with the color scheme I had chosen previously for my kitchen.  No matter how simple or plain my decor seemed before these dishes turned it into something unique and undeniably me. 

When looking for your own unique design in stoneware it doesn't need to cost you a fortune.  Remember you are going to scrap the fine china in lieu of a more individual and personal look.  Further more you can sell that china you got for your wedding on E bay and buy what you really want.  If you really want to look at the logic of putting a little more money out to buy stoneware dishes versus having one set of everyday dishes and one set of china dishes lets just list the pros and cons.  China dishes need kid glove handling, proper storage, dishwasher unfriendly, and good gosh don't put them in the microwave or you will have an unwanted light show.  Just think what would cross your mind when you went to the freezer and found that someone stored your Thanksgiving leftovers in your fine china serving bowl.  Stoneware is dishwasher safe, microwave friendly, can be taken from the conventional oven directly to the deep freeze with out concern.  It is chip resistant so is perfect for every day use.  Just think if you choose a stoneware set that has the unique characteristics that individualizes each  piece every time you set your table you will have a new look.  Truly variety is the spice of life.
