Chocolate Fondue Fountain Keeps the Fun FlowingUnless you have attended a bridal fair recently, you may not yet be familiar with the chocolate fondue fountain. Just as the name suggests, these attractive servers of chocolate are comprised of a fondue pot bottom to keep the chocolate mixture warm, and generally an auger style device in the center to keep it moving upwards and flowing out from the top, over multiple tiers. The effect is quite pleasing to the eye, and can be varied according to the variety of chocolate used. While dark and milk chocolate are of course always widely popular choices, white chocolate has a distinctly “wedding cake look” when presented in this manner. In any case, the fountain contributes an elegant and creative, as well as functional, element to the occasion. Chocolate fondue fountains vary greatly in size and price. Beginning with the largest wedding reception variety, these models can be rented for any large buffet-style event. There are now also small fountains available for sale, similar to your regular fondue pot and suitable for home use. A note to be aware of is that unlike a regular fondue, it is essential to maintain a fairly thin consistency of the chocolate mixture in these fountains so as not to disturb the smooth flow. As well, as with any heating device, special care should always be taken when using these appliances around small children. This may be particularly relevant in this case, as one can easily predict how popular the sights, smells and tastes are likely to be with all members of the family. Imagine the delight of guests of all ages, at any size of event, gathered around the flowing chocolate fountain. Does it not conjure up visions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, anyone? As an addition to a social function it is definitely a great way to encourage interaction in addition to the enjoyment of the culinary treats. Its uses for a special dessert or party centerpiece are limited only by your imagination. You can be sure the conversation will keep flowing as long as the chocolate does!
